Friends, it is the time you’ve been waiting for. Seriously.
First, of all, we’ve got two more Shortstacks coming up before we take a little winter vacation. We’ll be serving up the finest of flapjacks this Sunday, December 9th and next Sunday, December 16th and then we’re taking a two week break! Find us again on January 6th, 2013! Whoa.
So not only are we serving up Chocolate Chunk Pancakes with Raspberry Jam, but this chocolate is made by our front-counter-person’s very nice family, Mindo Chocolate Makers. They make delicious and ethical artisan bean-to-bar chocolate that we’re super lucky to have at the Shortstack. Find out more about them here or ask Anthony to talk shop when you’re ordering your stack this Sunday. Another nice thing: the raspberry jam is made by berries that were lovingly picked in the hot days of summer by Esther’s father in his backyard! It is a jam that gets compliments. Yes.
We will of course also have our usual homemade yogurt, butter, and maple syrup. As always, all organic and homemade, gluten-free and vegan stuffs available.
PLUS, for the next two Sundays, we’ll be selling amazing edibles and crafts made by some rad artists from the Purple Thistle Center. There will be patches and cards and canned things and who even knows what else! Bring yr dollars because this is an opportunity like no other. These things (and people) are great.
Sunday, December 9th, featuring:
Acoustic delights: covers and others. Proudly providing a musical backdrop to chew your breakfast to.
SEAN TRAVIS RAMSAY
Stolen from an accurate review by Fraser Dobbs: “Their odd, whimsically organic improv-folk is a constantly changing beast, and no two of their performances could ever be compared. Instrumental climaxes fall into place seemingly out of thin air and the coordination between musicians seems at once orchestral and random; the sonic qualities of plastic cups are just one element that could be explored to its natural end over the course of a show’s journey.”
